Our Story

Founded in 1952 by Tom O’Sullivan and his family, O’Sullivan’s Bakery began a beloved tradition of baking fresh bread and barm bracks for the local community.

Passed down through generations, our red-wrapped breads have become a familiar favourite across Killorglin and beyond.

Today, we proudly deliver fresh breads daily throughout Kerry. Our legendary barm bracks — especially the award-winning Kerry brack with sultanas, cherries, peel, and a touch of spice — continue to bring families together.

Using only quality ingredients and time-honoured methods, we offer a wide range to suit every family member, from sliced pans and spelt loaves to low GI breads, bracks, and soft floury baps.

Our Bread Range

O’Sullivans Bakery offers a wide variety of products including the popular large sliced pans, half pans, small sliced, plain and toast pans. They are naturally low in fat, with just 1.5g/100g fat.

Distribution

Our main customer base is located in South Kerry, where we supply a wide range of businesses and retailers.

In addition to our core operations, we also bake own-label bread for another bakery, allowing us to extend our reach into West Kerry. South Kerry itself covers an impressive 245,000 hectares with 240 kilometres of coastline, a population of 42,000, and a thriving tourism-based industry. The area is also home to 144 manufacturing companies, including six bakeries, highlighting its strong local food production network.

Our current customers include local shops, symbol group hotels, guesthouses, restaurants, and other bakeries. We service these customers efficiently through our own fleet of four vans, two independent agents, and partnerships with other bakeries, ensuring consistent and reliable distribution across the region.
